Second Chance Rescue: Dog Adoption Event!

Second Chance Rescue is BACK for another Dog Adoption Event! Come meet some adorable pups and maybe you’ll find your new best friend. (Must be an approved adopter to bring home any pet)

To have your dog adoption application processed at an adoption event, please bring your government-issued photo ID, your current pet(s) medical records (if applicable), and the pet policy in your lease if you rent.

We recommend applying before an event. Approved applicants are kept on file for one year

Live Music: Adam Ahuja

NYC-based Adam Ahuja is a jazz/x-genre touring and recording artist, keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist, and creator of the #intheloop live-looping style. During performances, Ahuja loops multiple instruments live on the spot: keyboards & key-bass, singing & rhyming, and beatboxing & drums, often loop recording audience members live on stage to make new music together. Adam is also a keys & creativity coach and founder of the Infinity Gritty music label.

Live Music: Sivan Arbel

Critically acclaimed Israeli vocalist, composer, and arranger Sivan Arbel is a dynamic force on the international jazz scene. Her music offers a window into a rich inner world, blending her deep love for jazz with diverse influences from her Israeli roots, vibrant New York community, and global travels.

As a performer, Arbel captivates audiences with her signature rhythmic explorations, scat improvisation, and expressive movement. Her latest album, Oneness (2024), marks a bold evolution in her artistry, pushing the boundaries of jazz in unexpected directions while weaving together her decade-long musical journey in New York City. Her previous albums, Broken Lines (2016) and Change of Light (2019)—the latter named Jazz2K’s Best Vocal Disc of 2019—earned her widespread recognition.

Arbel has collaborated with an array of musicians, including Japanese band Ichimujin, pandeiro virtuoso Túlio Araújo, Grammy-nominated Gnawa musician Samir Langus, and pianist Guy Mintus. She has enthralled audiences worldwide, performing at renowned festivals and venues such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center, and the Bratislava Jazz Days Festival.

Our teachers will introduce core concepts and guide your experience as you pot, prune, and design your very own bonsai tree!

She recently welcomed her debut album “Reconfiguration” into the world with a release show at The Cutting Room, and has written music for the SNY television network, and had music featured in Echo, a London-based feminist production of Hamlet by Antonia Georgieva.
